I jumped onto the chaffle train *woot woot*. Here is my take on the savory snack, and it’s DELICIOUS. I ordered my mini-waffle iron from Amazon. You can buy it here if you don’t have one. 


  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup of shredded sharp cheese
  • 1 tsp almond flour
  • 1 tsp sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp bacon bits
  • Low carb salsa of your choice


  1. Whip the egg in a small bowl.
  2. Mix in the almond flour, sour cream and bacon bits.
  3. Heat up the mini waffle maker and spray it with a non-stick spray (I used avocado oil).
  4. Spread 1/8 cup of cheese on the lower grill and close it for about 10-15 seconds.
  5. Add half of your mixture to the grill and close it until it firms up a little (approx. 20-30 seconds).
  6. Add another 1/8 cup of cheese on the top and close. This time you will cook for 3-4 minutes until it has a firm waffle-like texture.
  7. Repeat the process again for the second chaffle.
  8. Serve with Salsa.
